About the Whole Three-Day Training

Today, which mark the third and last day of our training, we learned many things including adding links to the blog, we also learned on how to search more facts and narrowing search to obtain more information from the web. For example, going to search tools, customize range to get specific time that information was published and many more like how to track plagiarism done by students and how to avoid doing plagiarism because sometimes it is difficult to know if you have done plagiarism.

Moreover, I learned about how I can upload videos and images on my blog and write caption as well.

I found the whole Three- Day training useful and enjoyable. It was useful and enjoyable because the training was mostly interactive and it was focused which makes all of the trainees understand and enjoy.

I really  like each aspect of the training because as a journalism tutor, I will be able to search for facts in  more technical manner and save time also. The research assignments that facilitator gave us increases my understanding in a more practical way for example publishing different posts on my own blog and adding images and many more.

Right now, I will be able to teach my students on how they can search facts/information in a right and more technical manner especially during writing of their dissertations.

Thank you very much Mr. Peik Johannson.

Bye!

Will Your Ribs Survive?

Well, probably you happened to see her on videos sent to you by friends via social media like whatsapp or facebook and the like. Anne Kansiime, Ugandan comedian who is also a presenter on a Tv Show (MINIBUZZ).

She is really a talented comedian because once you watch her comedies you will not dare miss them.

Get a look..

Training- DAY TWO

DAY TWO- The training continued with the most enjoyable practicals. Actually, i like every part of the training day.

We learned about how to link other people's blog links on my blog. learned about the history of internet, I also learned that not Google only can give information but rather information can be obtained directly by visiting different company websites. Different websites that one can obtain different news/information are like darhotwire.com, allafrica.com and many more. I also learned about how to search different information on the internet and search for the locations and addresses of different places on the map as well as the enjoying class discussion about Murdoch's speech to the American Society of Newspaper Editors where by it discusses on the challenges of of the internet to the conventional journalism and how the journalists can cope with the new trend.
Here he is, Rupert Murdoch

The day was very useful to me as a journalism tutor because I can now be able to search different information that it was difficult to get before i knew the tips. Sometimes, students are coming in my office and complain about missing some useful materials to learn and use on their assignments especially when some books are not in our library but now i will be able to show them how they can use internet to get all what they search for.

Thanks Johannson.

Internet training for journalism lecturers

Hi

I am Shekha Ally, tutorial assistant at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication of the University of Dar es Salaam. This week I am attending a training on Internet Journalism facilitated by journalist and Programme Coordinator of the Finnish Foundation for Media and Development, Peik Johansson.

I found the training useful and interesting since that in Day One, I was able to open my own blog which is www.shekhavariety.blogspot.com. As the name of my blog reads shekhavariety, there will be different kind of news including pictures, videos and many more including life style articles and many more.

However, I am expecting to know many things about the internet in journalism including journalistic research through the internet, citizen journalism and how i can be able to post different information for my students and communicate with them while am out of the class. These are just few expectations since I expect much from it.
